frightened

So I watched the snide, sarcastic speeches last night. I saw glee on the faces of the crowd.
And it dawned on me for the first time that my soon-to-be 11 year old will be 18 in time to vote two elections from now.
That also means he would be old enough, should there be someone in the White House who wishes to continue this war and needs to resort to the draft in order to staff it with more warm, young bodies.
I have three sons.
I am terrified.

I think the 2 parties are not that far off from one another, they just want it to look that way......

I'm only going by the voting records and what they say their positions are - both criteria tell me they are different.

I am also terrified, and I have no boys. We can only hope (+ work to help ensure) that more people than not make a better choice in 2 months.

Right on, Sarah. I have to re-energize - I feel I'm in a bit of a funk about all this...watching that crowd last night really got to me. I like to think we are all better than that.

little kookie on the crowd, and way too white, my point is that they all "change" what they say, 7 million times a month:(

That they do (change their tunes), but I feel my guy/our guy is the real thing...and I know that the last time a dem was in office, our country, economy, Supreme Court & civil rights were a lot better off (and though disappointing, I can live with infidelity in my pols, 'cause I don't have to be married to 'em)
