"Goals are dreams with deadlines"
-Diana Scharf Hunt
Our worst fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God; your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone, and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people premission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.- Marianne Williamson

VOTED! with babies in tow, after 2 hour wait. so worth it!
In my tiny town (few thousand) at around 8:30a.m. I voted. There was a small line (3 people in front of me or so) and I was number 347! That's about how many vote all day in a regular race with no major elections taking place!
Now you may wonder how I know what number I was? We have old fashioned crank ballot boxes, swear to you, with the rolling numbers on front like the odometer in an old car. We do really old school with paper ballots and a penciled in X. Honest! It's so cool.
Oops, we're not that big, only 3,335 as of 2000. That's even more impressive to me!
caitlin - that's so cool! I really miss our old machines - there was something so satisfying about pulling the lever & having the curtain close. More tactile. A better metaphor for what we are doing when we vote.
In my ward, just on voter machines (not absentee, provisional or early), turnout was over 84%. so cool.
